I wish I had access to a TV, but apparently troops are FINALLY getting in and bringing supplies. This "relief effort' has got to be one of the most disgusting failures in the history of this country - 5 days too late IMHO. The mayor of NO is in tears because he knows he's been let down by the people who were supposed to help him. For crying out loud, they didn't even bother finding a way to get information to these poor stranded souls so they wouldn't be sitting around worrying or preparing to die thinking they've been completely abandoned - NOTHING.

Letting people die because of incompetence and inaction is worse than murder, and there is a long list of name that need to be held accountable for this gross mishandling. 5 days late is NOT better than nothing...

:(

I never thought I'd say this - but thank God the media was there to show how things really are, otherwise we'd be sitting pretty in our ignorance like the stupid useless politicians have been doing. I f*cking hate politicians...

agreed bro...red tape doesn't help anyone. now lets see the various polititions start to line up and say "what an outrage" and "we need to do bla, bla, bla". we all know, if congress was based in N.O. that place would have been mopped up in 2 days.

I was just watching Fox news. Bush is touring the coast again and they just said he is landing in Kenner, LA. I really hope he has a pilot that knows what he is doing or a parachute because that jumbo jet he arrived in Mobile in is NOT going to stay on the runway in Kenner, LA.

Hell I would be impressed if it stays IN Kenner, LA.

But back to topic even he said in the press conference this morning that he was not happy with the relief efforts, BUT told the FEMA dude he was happy. Everyone knows this was handled wrong and **** will hit the fan once this is all sorted out. I do not blame Bush for the response time, I only wish he would have stepped in Tuesday and got things underway then.

Just saw pictures on the news of 6 BIG trucks of supplies and National Gaurd troops rolling down the flooded streets of NO. It was a relieving sight to see. They were moving with purpose.

The President will be flying in HMX-1 piloted and crewed by the Finest Marine Aviation members in their field. They also do not travel with only one Helicopter and several are considered decoys/transport. They will also more than likely be locked and loaded with .50cal or M16A2's.
