My wifes cousin was suppose to get married in May. Army couldn't let her fiance stay longer to get married and they had to change plans. Now just heard that the second plans were hit big as he thinks he will be going to Iraq before May as originally planned. He was in Afghanistan about 2 years ago and got hurt, came back and went into reserves. In January he got called up into duty and was planned to train in Georgia until May/June.
She is 24 and him 27. They met a short time after he got back the first time in the hospital she works at as he was getting some follow up stuff for his knee surgery. Dude has really taken to the family as he was raised by his aging grandmother and it seems he really wants a solid place to call home. He follows our Uncle around and jokes that he is a "family man in training".
She called my wife this morning and said she was just going to get a dress and drive down with some other girlfriends and wives from the area and get married in a court house. I'm usually behind in money but I gave the wife a hundred and told her to make sure she adds it to her dress fund so she gets a nice one as they all went shopping.
She just called me and got a big tearful thanks ,,,, I had to take a second to keep from getting a tear myself,,, I'mma open a can ah whoopass on her next time for makin' me get all mushy.....
