J.C. Newman owes me royalties.
and oh how sweet it is……….
At approximately 1537 on 15 May 2006 at Camp Liberty, Baghdad, Iraq, what can only be described as a nuclear missile landed in my lap.
Suspects identified as Mike (preembargo), Brandon (bfreebern), and with an immediate follow up attack, Brian (Infinity). Suspects already having been identified are now targeted for short term retaliation. Below is an account of the events that transpired.
Well it would appear I’ve received my first bomb! Holy smokes, literally! For some time now preembargo has been planning a support the troop’s package for me and some cigar pals here in Baghdad, he coaxed his local B&M and bfreebern to go in with him. I was expecting a bomb of some sorts, but I did not expect what I saw today. We received numerous care packages and two very suspect packages (pictured).
Not knowing any better I opened both up………and…….BOOOOoooOOM!
I think the picture says it best. My wish list has been decimated. I never would have expected such a gift from someone I’ve known only through CP in the short time I’ve been here. It truly amazes me, the amount of support anyone will show us simply because we are over here doing our jobs. My hat goes off to you gentlemen and everyone involved. Words can’t express the feeling I had when I opened it. I was literally shaking for about an hour, must’ve been fallout.
But being the supporters that they are, they not only included a bomb for me, but included a bomb to be divided up among my BsOTL in Iraq. The problem was that since all the cigars were top notch I couldn’t figure out how to do it equally. But we came up with something. Everyone (minus me) grab a die. They all rolled and the highest number got to grab 1 stick, then the next highest and so on. After everyone grabbed 1, we did it again, and again, and again, and again, and again…until all the sticks had a home. You can see the madness in the photo below.
It was a joyous day and just when I thought it was winding down, the mail carrier approaches me with yet another package. This one said from Brian (Infinity). With more caution this time I opened it, and BOooOOooOOM!!! Yet another bomb! After the dust settles, I see what is pictured below.
Padron Anniversaries galore!!!!! Unbelievable!
To all involved in today’s attacks. You are truly thanked by all of the cigar pals of 589th BSB, 4ID. You unwavering support brings us a touch closer to home and we are now able to fill the skies of Baghdad with smoke of a friendlier kind. Thank you so much.
My first Padron Anniversary ’64…..wow
Take care all, I’ll see you around CP.
As for the suspects. It’s going to take a bit of time, but you are in our scopes for an attack in the near future.
