Today is the birhday of the USN. I thought I'd give all you Blue Jackets and Devil Dogs a heads up so you can properly prepare for this event. You and those presently serving are why America is great. There is nothing that projects American power and strikes fear into our enemies like a Bird Farm and her escorts. So smoke a good one. Drink some rum and well,...act like sailors and Marines. ie. participate in some lewd and lascivious behavior :whistling: Happy Birthday shipmates and God bless John Paul Jones. link

I was in Annapolis earlier this year and visited John Paul Jones' crypt. Like the Wall, Lincoln Memorial, Arlington and so many other places it caused horripilation just being there.

Avast what yer doin' mates and tip one to the USN

I take it you had to do it last year. Well, I assure you, I will make the birthday notice as long as I'm still near a computer.

Finally, an excuse for my Saturday afternoon plans!

Happy belated Doc - was out of town when this thread was posted.

Interestingly, I just finished reading "Six Frigates" by Ian Toll - a damn fine recitation of the birth of the USN amidst the fledgling formation of the greatest country in the world. Those of you who haven't read this will be well advised to do so.

Doc sorry I missed this. All the best to the USN and all who have proudly served.
