See ya boys and girls
I’m leaving now for the National Cave Rescue Commission weeklong training seminar.
http://caves.org/io/ncrc/2007Seminar/seminar2007.htm
and won’t be coming back until Sunday June 24th.

I’m taking the Level 3 training and ‘m really looking forward to it.
The training is pretty intense, lots of long days and short nights.
There will be crack & crevice extractions, high-angle-rough-terrain scenarios and rescue rigging (lots of rigging).

May not sound like fun to most folks, but it’s heaven to me.
And in the evening, there’s always time for a cigar and beer before I hit the sack…

That sounds like a blast to me as well! Rigging, and knowing your systems has always been one of the most important parts of the game for me.

Hi Folks,
I got back on Sunday, battered and bruised and damn tired...
It was a lot of fun.
Here is a shot of our group practicing at a local pit.

The pit is about 120' deep and I'm the one in the Ferno litter.

Was not able to smoke as many cigars as I would have liked, but oh well
Classroom stuff was from 8am to 11am and then we had practical exercises.
The practical work took place at local cliffs or caves. Dinner was at 6pm and after
dinner we worked some more. We usually finished up at 11pm most nights.
