Is it just me, or are these types of threads are a COMPLETE waste of bandwidth? (sp?) I didn't look at this link, but I'm sure I have a good enough idea of what it might be based on the responses. Now, I'm not saying that every single thread in the lobby has to be informative, and I know this is the area to talk about various things to blow off steam and bust each other's balls and whatnot, but I just don't get or appreciate these types of links. If I was into this kind of crap, I would search it out and find it on the internet, but do not particuarly like opening a link like this and the one posted last week to find this type of video. Not trying to knock anyone, but if we all (well most of us) try to make our posts at least half way intelligent (and puctuated somewhat properly) so that we won't be viewed as one of "those" forums, how do posts like this help? I guess my problem isn't with grossing people out once in a while, but rather that there have been several THREADS, not posts or links with this type of material in it, that contain cigar smoking "guys" (and I'm using the term "guy" in the most loose way possible.) What if someone googles this site, clicks on a link like that and thinks that's the norm for this board? I certainly wouldn't have joined. I would hope that they would see that the majority of other threads overshadow this type, and that this post was made in jest, but if there are multiple posts like this, who knows what kind of impression that would leave. I am a pretty even keel kind of fella, and I don't normally protest what types of things other people chose to post. Hell, I know for a FACT, I've made some really dumb and useless posts in the past, and again, I'm not judging anyone here, but for some reason, the two threads that I have seen with this type of link in it some how really got under my skin. I didn't say anything in the first one, but couldn't help myself after I saw this one. If I am just getting my panties in a bunch, I apologize, but I have a feeling, I'm not the only one who might feel this way.

haha! Thanks for pouring some salt on the wound! Like an idiot, I actually had to click the friggin link to make sure I didn't go into my rant in response to some sick Eagles joke! I have now suffered as much as everyone else who has clicked that link! If it really was Jeff Garcia, my response probably would have gotten me banned! Can't wait for next season to start!

Yes, it is a complete waste of bandwidth. :) Guess I could make it informative and ask for links to videos that show how to roll a cigar. That is what I was looking for when I found this gem.

Your panties are not in a bunch either. You are just more hetro than the rest of us, which is probably a good thing. :thumbs:

Is it a waste o bandwidth if the video isn't hosted on CP? I mean if you are just following a link, isn't the bandwidth just simply the text involved to put up the post?
 
Do a search for cigar on Youtube sometime. Some of the videos folks have been posting are disturbing. I am not gonna touch the ones with the gimp suits. :0

Sorry, but give it a rest on the waste of bandwidth thing..The lobby is meant for fun things and humerous things...so if you see a LINK you might not think is ok to you, dont click on it...cause a lot of times the LINKS posted here in the lobby are gonna be humerous...and might be tasteless or might be...well...I dont know...but take it for what it is posted for and save the tyrade....(spell check me CC on tyrade)....just have fun with it and spare us all the condescending posting...
