I got given this old German Cigar box. If anyone has any info on it I would love to know the history or cigars that went into it.

Thanks

Cool eh

This police / military building was called the hauptwache. It was turned into a coffee house in
http://www.aviewoncities.com/frankfurt/hauptwache.htm

The building was built in 1730
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hauptwache_(Frankfurt_am_Main)

In 1905 the building opened as a cafe, maybe these smokes were in honor of the cafe opening?
I don't know much german, the closest I get is sparse Danish, so I just went for keywords, I'd think someone like Wurm or MX might be able to help? I thought they were both stationed in Germany?

Wicked bro.
Thats just so cool :D

Rough translation from Bablefish:
In the midst of modern Hochhauser - surround themselves by the hectic Grobstadt Verkehrprasentiert the police headquarters as a part old Frankfurt

Saliently this building stands out against its environment and documents in its style a past epoch.

The police headquarters, in the baroque style delighted, was completed in the year 1730, served zunachst as militarisches guardhouse and only 1905 for a coffee house was converted.

It would be awesome if it was from 1905.
To survive the bombing would just be inconceivable.

My friend was telling me his Grandmother was taking driving lessons as her husband could not drive any more, and as he did all the driving she need to brush up on her skills.
She got pulled over by the German cops and asked for her license which she produced and gave to the copper. Apparently he looked at her, laughed and said. "Madam this license is not valid, we do not use SS issued documents anymore"

Well I thought it was funny. :D
