On Monday, December 8, 1980 John Lennon was shot and killed by Mark David Chapman. Chapman was sentenced to 20 years to life and has come up for parole every two years since October of 2000. He's still in prison.

Six years later on Monday, December 8, 1986, my ex-wife and I got married. Every year since then, we had to be reminded that our anniversary was on the same day that John Lennon was killed. We're no longer married so don't send me an anniversary card. :laugh:
 
I love it CC .... It just so happens that I was first married on Sep 11, 1982 divorced in 1999. But after 9/11 I'm always reminded of that date whether I like it or not.

WOW, that beats my story. :D

I could never remember my friend Billy's birthday whom I've known for over 25 years until just a few years ago when I learned it was September 11, 1962. Now, I never forget to call him on his birthday. :laugh:
 
My wife and I danced to John Lennon's "Love" as our first dance on our wedding date of August 28, 2004. Ok, no significance to this story except that was used a John Lennon song at our wedding. :cool:
 
1986 huh... shiiiiiit I got married in 1986 too.

Oh no, nothing wrong with that at all, just out of the ordinary. Actually Casa, my wife says that Wednesday is the only day of the week people should get married because it's the only day that has the word "Wed" in it! But she's goofy that way too.
