I've always purchased online, nothing major though. I typically let Best Buy get my business for that. But I can't get over the price difference.

Contemplating ordering a DLP from these guys, wondering if any of you have had any experience with them

I've used onecall a few times. No complaints. Actually quite decent customer service considering they're a big discounter.

Never used them, but you could get a hold of Best Buy and see if they'll do a price match. I know they do for in store stuff, but not sure about on-line.

I've bought a number of things from Onecall over the years. Great customer service with the one albeit, fairly minor problem I had. They corrected it and I had a new item in 3 days. Not bad considering I'm on the other side of the country.

I used to use them quite a bit, as I recall, they sell a lot of refurb equipment.

A friend of mine recently bought a rear projector tv from them and had a horrible experience. It got damaged beyond repair during shipment, and it took them almost a year to finally make it right. I really don't know if I would buy a TV mail order. They are just too fragile to trust to the freight monkeys.

Thats the hard part Im having...is it worth the $700 savings on a beautiful TV.

My budget is around 3k, and outside of Onecall, that TV is way out of reach.

You gotta figure, all these tabletops need a stand, that's another $250-$300 on the price.

I've been plagued with this for the last 2 weeks, BB has 24 months no interest ended Sat, so I need to pull the trigger soon.

I've used Onecall a couple of times and have been very satisfied with them. You might want to check out your local Costco though. They have an unconditional return warranty and have heard of people taking electronics back after 2 years. This is a good thing with DLPs. A friend has had to replace the lamp and the color wheel in the span of a year and a half.

Check with at least a few of your local retailers to see if they'll come close to matching onecall's cost. You may be surprised. Deduct the shipping cost and you may get close enough to make it work.

Thats my plan. Drinking a glass of wine, eating some dinner...then walking into BB to do some haggling.

It helps that I worked there for 6 years, we'll see what happens.

That sounds like a freight company issue more so than Onecall but too little information to understand what you are implying.

Sound advice given by many....shop it locally and weigh the difference advantages and disadvantages.

I've purchased from Onecall a few time including a Sharp plasma and a Toshiba DLP and thier service it great. I don't even check around anymore. Also, they even do a referral program were they will send the person who referred you 1% of the sale.

I also have the option of goin with the 42" DLP...

Spending a total of 2300, and taking the remainging 700, and putting it towards a DirecTV set top box, and/or a Denon hometheater in a box....

Anyone have any opinions?

Black Friday, the largest shopping day of the year is just about 2 months away. If you can hold out that long the best deals of the year will be available then. Your bucks might go further then you think.

Oh I know all about black friday, having working it in BB for years. We used to sit back and egg people on as the literally sprinted through the door to get the $30 DVD player.

Bottom line, if I go 50", regardless im gonna save money going through Onecall.

This is litereally the hardest decision I've ever had to make. Do I sacrifice screen size to accomodate more of the home theater, and have the comfort of 24 mts financing, or do I get the screen size that fits a bit more proper, spend more, only get 12 mts financing, and worry about my remaining balance when that time is up? This would cause me to use my existing hometheater setup, which is somewhat horesy...it is progressive scan, but the quality of the surround leaves something to be desired.

Anyone have exerience with the 42"? Im thinking I should move this thread over to the Hometheater Boards!

Never heard that day called "Black Friday" but after searching it does make sense. I just hope laptops start going on sale, more than normal, then.
