Online DVD rentals...

Netflix

I also have a 1 day turn-a-round.

You can add future releases to your queue and they will tell you when they are being released.

The only down side I have found so far... sometimes you won't get the new releases due to the timing of when they are released and if you already have movies out. They sit in you queue for a couple of weeks waiting for copies to free up. Once you get a handle on the shipping, you can plan when to ship back and have a better chance at the new releases. ;)

The TV series releases are pretty good also.

I just read this article about how Netflix prioritizes who gets movies and thought I'd add the link to this thread.

Especially since we just got a two week trial and were considering signing up for it.

Netflix's throttling practice has always been out in the open. It only affects the most aggressive users (like me), because most people don't rent 20+ discs per month. It sucks that I have to wait longer to get new releases, but with a couple hundred dics in que it's not that bad of a trade off because I always have something.

I just recently saw this ad and it explained why I`ve been getting so pissed off with Netflix lately. I've had Netflix for about a year but it wasn't until I got my burner that the heavy rentals started a few months ago.

what to do... :angry2:

What to do? That's easy - Stop fighting Karma :whistling:

:p

I've found if you hold onto a couple dics longer than usual it seems to help a little.

Karma...never heard of the word :p
Guess I'll try handing on to a few for a bit. If it doesn't work, I'm hunting you down though

Greetings! I prefer to own, rather than rent, the DVD movies that I watch, as I am also a DVD collector. The primary sources where I obtain my DVD's are: Deep Discount DVD, Overstock.com, and Columbia House DVD Club. I also use several other good sources, but to a lesser degree. All of these sources also have good special offers and extra discounts from time-to-time. This method may not appeal to everyone, but it works well for me. Enjoy your DVD movies! Regards, knightlaird
