OpenID.net is a free service which allows you to log into multiple websites (like CP), without having to manage passwords for every site that requires authentication. Learn more about their free service at http://www.openid.net

Curious to see who uses this service. May be part of the forum upgrade.

Thanks.

I just remember my passwords (I don't visit many websites that need one). I've never found a need for some outside program or service. My noggin' still works OK.

I use the same password most of the time, other than that, I write in my pass word book.

I use to let the web browser remember them, but that did not work out so well after a crash.....

I've never heard of it before. I don't frequent but a few sites so I don't really need a program like that.

As a general maxim to complete security, if any person or "thing" (ie third party software, cookie, etc) knows your password besides your brain, you put yourself at risk. As long as there are people to program the applications to memorize and encrypt such things, there will be people to program the exact opposite. Nevermind the brilliant advent of the keylogger....

Nope, I generally just remember my passwords.....when I need reminding I click "forgot password" on the website.

I'm another that prefers to remember my passwords than having a program manage them. Wouldn't trust it, especially my banking.

Thanks for the feedback. I doubt we'll offer this feature as part of the upgrade. Personally, I'm not a big proponent of allowing a 3rd party service to manage my passwords.
