I can hardly believe that this is a tough choice for me. A year ago I picked up the pipe again and started exploring the world of tobacco blends. Until then, I was exclusively a cigar smoker. I didn't realize how much of a convert I've become until an acquaintance proposed the following trade:

For my 8 oz pouch of Stonehaven, he is offering a $100 in cigar trade, Prensados, Comacho Corojo Figurados, Oliva G, and Drew Undercrowns: Plus several ISOM Fonsecas, and one Bolivar and one Partagas.

What say you?

Depends how much you love pipe smoking, and how much you enjoy Stonehaven.....

Stonehaven is a tobacco that is extremely hard to find, almost impossible....(believe me, I have tried and failed) If you like pipe smoking, hold on to it, even though it's worth around 35-45$ retail, you just won't be able to find it anymore..... The cigars you'll be able to find any day.....

If however you're more into cigars than Stonehaven, make the trade....

Lol!!!!!

I would keep the Stonehaven

I've read on other sites how impossible that stuff is to find.
Those cigars aren't going anywhere.

Yep, if you like Stonehaven, It would be a hell of a lot harder to replace than any of those cigars, which, to be honest, are nothing special. Regarding the CC's, are you sure that they are genuine? Even if they are, still easier to get than Stonehaven.
Stonehaven typically goes for 125 or more on the Bay of E auctions that i've monitored.

You have a hard time making your own decisions, don't you?

Thanks all, for sharing your experience and insights on this proposed trade. It is clear to me now that I should keep the Stonehaven.

It is easier to find ISOMs than than Esoterica blends. The MSRP doesn't reflect the true market value.

??
Maybe yes, maybe know. What do you think? More to the point, why on earth do you think it is any of your business?

Haha, well you're posting it on a cigar board.  I understand asking for an opinion, but that's about all you've posted lately and now you're asking members opinions about a pipe tobacco for cigar trade.  If you think it's a good trade, do it.  If you don't, then hold off.

Maybe it's me, but I find the constant asking for opinions, to be strange.  I feel like I'm dealing with Stewart Smalley.

BfreeBern, I find it strange that you would follow a member from thread to thread to harass them with unsolicited judgmental, comments. It's creepy. I've never experienced this type of BS and I've been posting since the dialup BBS days. I'm wondering if I should take out a restraining order. Get a life.

For the rest of you, thank you for the intelligent, informed advice. Your insights were very helpful and appreciated.

Bfreebern....Strange? Creepy?  :0

Besides Freakburn's fetish for lactation porn, the extensive tiara collection, his history of swinging with plus plus plus size women, his incessant research on assless chaps and the advances in the latest lubrication sciences, and the odd fact that he visits YMCAs throughout the United States to review their sauna facilities for Matt R.'s website dedicated to mangrooming, there is absolutely nothing strange or creepy about Brandon.

Dang, We need to hang out!

I host a herf/men's smoker at my place every month or so on Friday nights. We watch videos of jazz and blues concerts from the sixties, sometimes throwing in some do-wop, motown and classic country. We serve single malts and fine bourbons with the house rule that are drunk straight. Some craft beers are available.  Regulars include a rescue diver, property manager, ex-motor cycle gangster, Catholic priests and monks (technically these guys are friars), philosophy instructors, junior atheist, scientists and a retired infantry commander. Conversation tends to energetic but respectful.

If you're ever in the DC area, let's hang. Send me a PM with a weeks notice, and we'll get it organized,  MadMonk, I'm originally from SC. Do you happen to be from down there?
