Can someone recommend a good online retailer to buy a single Opus X? I don't see where any of the linked ones here have any in stock.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Good luck...best bet is to either find them in a B&M somewhere or buy them when someone posts a deal in the BST forum. If you do find them online it's usually gouged severly and we don't like to feed the gougers around here. Trust me I thought I'd never find any when I first joined and now I have a whole tray full. Patience...

Thanks. That's what I figured. I'm not dying to have one, since I wouldn't appreciate it now anyway. However, it would be nice to throw one in the humidor for a year or so.

Anyway, I just noticed that all the known reputable companies appeared to be out and there are some other places that have them . . . just never heard of 'em.

I didn't name any of these places either because of the gouge factor as well.

Talk to Israel at Uptown Cigar, his handle here is Uptown_isy. Great fella, he is a great botl.

You're in luck. I forgot your package when I went to the post office yesterday, so I'll throw in an Opus to make up for it. Definitely going to the post office tomorrow morning.

Holts sells some samplers with Opus in them.

See "Crown Jewels" and "Royal Flush".

Some shpos gouge for OpusX, so these samplers are
good, since Holts charges near msrp for everything, AFAIK.

Opus usually comes out between Thanksgiving and Xmas,
and just before Father's Day. At other times they can be
hard to find. Eventually you'll find out when and where
to get them, and stock up a little for special occasions.

Drat! That reminds me... I forgot to ask Holts for xXx
when I stopped by yesterday. They had NO Opus displayed
in the htf cabinet. I guess they're saving them for those
samplers.

My understanding is that that cigar retailers with Fuente accounts are prohibited from selling Opus X on-line or via phone. Fuente wants the Opus X to drive business INTO the shoppes, which is something on-line/phone sales fail to do.

To me, that explains why the only Opus X you see for sale on-line are "gouger" priced. These folks are buying them from authorized Fuente dealers, and then marking them up in order to make a profile.

I'm not sure this is true. If it is, I know several GREAT businesses that violate this policy, selling at MSRP or damn near it online and via phone.

PM me your addy. I'll get one out to you

I've never had an Opus either. Can I get one as well? Preeeettttttyyyyyy pleeeeaaaaasssseeee...I swear I have been a good boy the last 2 days. :whistling:

So Loren, are you saying you've never had a regular production Opus? Only those hard to find one's they make in funny shapes with a second band that tells the year they were made? Maybe they come in a 22 count box?

Now get back in the box until Brad and Tony tell you it's okay to come out.

What does me being bombed within my first month have anything whatsoever to do with my comment?

Wish I'd have been as fortunate.

That comment? Your own words: you were not that fortunate. I can only infer that getting bombed twice in your first month here was not "fortunate" enough for you, and someone should have been sending you Opus your first week.
