...PVW 23 on Wednesday. I will be picking them up after 2pm tomorrow. Any and all are welcome to a virtual pour here tomorrow evening between 9-10PM. I will then provide my tasting notes along with a chat on the history of ORVW with Julian Van Winkle, III.

Jim Butler

P.S. To let you know that Julian will not be with me, but I sat down with him recently and taped our conversation (and yes he was aware :) ). Call it an interview if you would like. We spoke about the history of his family and ORVW, his Granddaddy's eccentric style and wit, his pappy's part in ORVW and his current role with ORVW and Buffalo Trace.

Now I just have to type our conversation out. I better get started now if I'm going to have them ready for tomorrow night. :0 ;)

Nice to have you here Jim, how about going to the intro forum and letting some of the members know a little about yourself. I'll be looking forward to reading your conversation once you write it up.

Where ya from Jim. I run in to Julian quite often at my local wine store. He lives just a few blocks from me. It is quite interesting to be able and sit and chat with him.

Julian is a really good guy. It must be the genes. :) I've met him a couple times and asked if I might be able to sit down with him for a chat. He was more than accomodating. Julian is an all-round nice guy. If ever I have questions on a certain Bourbon he is usually able to, at the very least, point me in the right direction. He's always seems to want to go the extra mile for fellow Bourbon lovers.

AVB, sorry for the breach of etiquette. I will find the Intro forum and formally introduce myself.

Have tried the PVW23 on a few occasions here recenly with Gator. You are going to really enjoy yourself. three fingers and ice of that fire up one of your better gars and heaven seems very close. a very smooth drink I am looking forward to sitting down with Gator when he gets back into town and maybe trying it again.

Yeah the Pappy 23 does get up there. Luckily with about 40 miles of driving I can snag them for about $175. You have some good prices on other stuff up there in CT so I guess it evens out.

I failed to mention price. It will cost me $208 for each bottle. Yikes! :D

Hello everyone,

I just wanted to let you know that my times above, in my first post, are Eastern time. So, my virutal pour will be between 9-10PM EDT. I will try to get the interview in that time slot as well, but it may run a bit past since I haven't yet begun my typing :0

My two Pappy's have arrived and I am heading over to the liquor store now. They were supposed to be in after 2pm, but I'm not complaining. :D Still, I will not taste until this evening.
