my fiances' brother came down to columbus for a night out. he had only smoked a few cigars before, so he says "my treat, we will smoke whatever you want". i am like right on! so i went to the tinder box in dublin and these guys had EVERYTHING. including a few FFOX. i deceided to go with my "go to" smoke while introducing cigar newbies. we bought 2 robusto sized 64's. he absolutely flipped head over heels for it. i have reason to belive mine was fake. a have smoked no less than 40 of these and never had anything but a pleasurable experience. it was harsh, burned really hot (and i know how to smoke), and it just smelled different. the serial number was in line with his. i am just a little dissapointed that i finally got duped and/or a bad stick. i guess they are handmade afterall. any thoughts on this tobbaconist? i am new to columbus and i miss my old BOTL who used to gift me with things like partagas 150s and isoms just for hanging out in the shop with him and shooting the breeze.

Sorry to hear about your experience. I've read about fake 26's and 64's, but I've never seen one first hand. Even though these are quality smokes with remarkable consistency, I've experienced a dud from both lines (from authentic boxes).

If you smoked it right out of the store humi it may just have been a little on the wet side. Most B&M's keep the RH% on the high side and if the smoke was wet it could account for the "off" flavor. Tinderbox is a larger retailer so I would think a fake would be unlikely.
