does it make much difference? I usually just grab the cigar i wsnt and same on the bourbon, but i'm curious about the pairing thing.

My choices for a smoke tonight are: Monte #2, Padron 1964, DC Maximus, and Opus X. Whisky selections: Sazerac 18, WL Weller cask strength, Thomas Hardy Sazerac cask strength, ER 17, George Stagg, Elmer T Lee, and PVW 20.

any pairing advice?

One of the first rules about any pairing is matching intensities, maybe the Padron 1964 and the PVM 20. Both seem to have those deep dark flavors that should go together well.

makes sense, believe i'll go w/ that 1st, followed by a Green Spot Irish Whiskey and a DC Maximus (aren't they supposed to be milder?)

wife and kids are out of town
