I have been debating on buying a sampler of these, but $40/20 sticks is a huge leap of faith.

I found some information (i.e.- 2 reviews) on these saying they are mild and a) disgusting or b) acceptable.

Has anyone had any Perdomo Signature encounters?

Yes...and I choose (A). Going to a Perdomo event on 2/11. So maybe I will give them another try...but for now? Crap. ;)

DAMN! Any reason? Harsh? Tasteless? Bad aroma?

They just aren't my thing...not to say that you won't like them. Can't nail it down to one thing...just didn't care for them. But like I said, I may have a change of heart come next month...I haven't had one for a bout a year.

OK. I was hoping for a "too mild" response, as I enjoy mild smokes.

Thanks for the input, Fetter. Much appreciated.

Anyone else have any experiences?

Thanks for the replies. There seems to be a lot of love for Perdomo around here.

The only experience I've had with Perdomo is Compay. I have to say that I love this line. Both the Cameroon and Maduro.

Has anyone had both of these and noticed any relation between Compay and Signature?

Now im gonna have to disagree with everyone else here bc i LOVE perdomo cigars...but with cigars its is to each his own. Now i would say that you should at least give them a try...if u like the compays im sure ull like the estate selection or the cabinet series.

Thats my .02!

The Estate Selection are top quality cigars. I also like the Champagne's alsp. I dont know anything about these cigars.

Finally. Some guys with something positive to say, if only for the Perdomo name. However, that doesn't really help me out with this decision.

I just bought a bunch of Gurkha's with a "free" Perdomo sampler (let's see...1 Signature, 1 Champagne, and 1 Slow Aged). I guess I'll wait until these come in to see if they're worth the good reviews.

I'd still like to hear about whether anyone likes this particular stick.

Thanks for the input!

I have had a couple of the Signature Collection. While it's not my favorite smoke, it is certainly not terrible in my book. I found them to have great construction and burn well, I think perfectly but nothing majorly wrong for sure. The flavor I can't quite remember the details of, yet I remember liking them. I could pick one up in the next few days and try my first formal review on Cigarpass for ya.

edited for spelling......

Ah ha. So you remember it as being decent, but nothing that memorable?

Going from the garble on the site: "Using Nick Perdomo's access to the world's top tobaccos, the blend has been tweaked and enhanced - resulting in a fantastic mild to medium-bodied smoke that answers the bell every time."

I'm not sure when this "tweak" was performed resulting in the cigar's "enhancement", but I'm wondering if there is a difference from the ones they sell now to the ones sold, lets say 6 months ago.

I'm not sure how long I'll be able to get them at the $10 "discounted" price. It is, after all, a Special Deal! for their best customers.

arvee: You have access to these cigars in particular at your b&m? If you feel so inclined, I'd like to hear what you think about it.

I should be getting one by Thursday, but doubt I'll be trying it for a while. I'll probably have to let it get back in shape.

Yeah that is a fair assessment of my current thoughts on them. My B&M quite likely has them, but I seldom venture to that side of the humidor. (It's too far from the Fuente side of the humidor :p) I have a friend that got a whole box around October, or was it November, the one I smoked was out of that box. I will scare one up in the next few days and sentence it to death by incineration. Damn, I'm almost making it sound like work. :)

I've tried the Cabinet Series Cameroon, Perdomo 2, and the Signature Collection from Perdomo. The Signature Collection was my least favorite. Not a bad smoke, just nothing special.

$17.50 for one Perdomo Edicion de Silvio robusto is as close to highway robbery as it gets. There is nothing there to make your loins quiver. Its a tasteless overpriced cigar with a pretty cigar band IMO

I've also had the Perdomo "CI Legends" and disliked it so much I made a thread about it here. MonkeyK sent me a 5er of Perdomos to try including the for mentioned EDS. The only one I really liked and would buy for myself was the Perdomo Reserve Maduro 'F' but so far thats the only Perdomo cigar I've tried that I have liked.

Too many better and cheaper cigars out there.

Heya CheapSkate,

I managed to rustle up a Signature Collection and post a review. I trade him an Onyx Reserve Toro (one of my current go to cigars) to see what he thinks of those. So two purposes were served in this review. :)

Perdomo's line seems to cover quite a range. I personally think that they are overextended, trying to be all things to all cigar smokers. However, they do have some really good cigars.

The EDS are great cigars if you like mild cigars. They have a unique aftertaste: clean, and somewhat herbal. I have not noticed the ashy taste in my mouth the next day either. I hear that there is more concentrated flavor in the Torpedos, but I have not tried one yet.

The Reserve Maduros are great, my favorites are the 'X' (OTOH, I don't like the smaller sizes)

Nothing but bad experience with Perdomo. Last year went to a local event they sponsored here in Washington. Bought an assortment of their smokes and they were either rolled so tight you couldn't draw them or they tasted like crap. Ended up locating and contacting the national sales rep by phone...he sent me an entire box of assorted cabinet sticks for free. The ones with a red band (don't recall actual name) were "okay" the rest I gave away. No more Perdomos for me...overpriced, bad taste, poor quality control. Just my opinion!
