All this rain has got me yearning for a smoke outside now that the summer weather is approaching. It was making me reflect on my favorite setting for smoking. Of course there are lots, but here is one of my favs:

- Any decent cigar
- Wife is out of the house
- Kids sleeping
- Sitting outside on the patio
- Music playing
- Scotch or beer sitting on the table
- Clear, warm weather with stars above

Just puffing and relaxing, forgetting about all the day's stress.

I use the front porch to the house next door for rain smokeing....its up for sale and doesnt look like it will be sold anytime soon.

I always love smokeing outdoors, moreso then indoors.
Looking foward to the summer days in the yard, grilln, haveing a beer/scotch/whiskey with the bigger longer gars in my collection.Haveing a beer and cigar while floating on the chaise lounge in the pool is money.............tunes in the background as well. :)

I was up at my lakehouse this past weekend it was amazing. Laying down by the water in my hammock, stars in the sky, perfectly calm lake, a Hemingway Signature in one hand and an icy Blue Moon in the other. Pure relaxation.

A nice fair (not hot not cold) evening at around dusk, with some good friends, and a good cigar have sparked some great conversations and strengthed some already amazing friendships. That's what cigars are all about right there gentleman!!!

Ah the perfect setting....let see, over here:

- on the hand made cigar patio next to the office
- 120 degrees outside
- sitting under the solar shade
- clear the table of the inch of dust that accumulated since yesterday
- a nice breeze reminiscent of a hot blow dryer on my face
- hopefully, no mortar impacts in the background

ah....serenity :)

Amen to that brother!

Perfect setting for me... I have two.

Sitting at home alone. TV going, cruising the threads here at CP. Maybe losing at on-line poker. This situation is especially good if the weather is super crappy.

Or... Hanging out with a BOTL or BOTLs talking and sharing stogies anywhere.

Situation #2 is the most preferred!

Hey Brickhouse....TFF man! Stay safe, bro.

I was in the service a long time ago and never at war...but my memories are of either being cold or wet and sometimes both at the same time. For this Florida boy, being stationed in Germany was like living in the freezer. We had days and days of gray, overcast 30-40 degree weather with no sun in sight. I think I counted 22 days in a row without seeing the sun.

Probably sounds pretty good to you about now, huh?

Now, the perfect smoking time is the evening, after dinner...sitting in the driveway, watching the sun go down.

My favorite is sitting outside in the good weather. Either by the pool or just on the deck and relaxing.

I also like to smoke at herfs. Its a lot of fun talking wth fellow Botls and having a cigar and a drink as well.

i don't know how you do it brick, many thanks for your service out there in the desert, hope you got some sunscreen.

Bah, no worries man, we're doing fine out here.

I do look forward though, to when I can say my perfect setting is:

- sitting on the back patio
- grilling up a couple racks of Hillbilly Ribs
- 80 degrees and a slight breeze
- watching the little one's run around the yard (or crawl)
- yelling through the window to the wife to see if the tater's are ready yet

I can't even begin to appreciate your mindset to be able to keep a sense of humour about this. I'm not American, but my hat's off to you and all your Bro's where-ever they may be!

sitting out at night by the pool with the fire pit crackling, a nice padron in had with a cream soda, some jazz in the background with my best freind lying at my feet knawing on the bone from the ribeye i just polished off.

I have a couple of “perfect settings”:
The first is sitting on my porch at the end of the day, temps in the lower 80’s and a light breeze in the air.
The wife is out of the house and I have glass of bourbon (with a couple of ice cubes) in my hand.

The other is driving in my truck, coming back from a caving trip.
The day is warm and I’m driving thru the back roads of West Virginia.

One night I had last August really sticks out in my mind.

- Out on the patio with a Led Zeppelin CD in the boom box.

- 80 degrees but not humid.

- Great cigar accompanied by a great Scotch.

- Bats diving down to play with the 2nd hand smoke.

- Katydids seeming to sing with the drum beat.
