Guys, if your anything like me, this website is both a blessing and a curse! For the sake of my wallet it should be banned from the web! I find my self buying something at least once a week. Anyone else in the same boat?

LOL. Try once a day, Ci, Cbid or Famous, I am a newb and have been making a mad dash at stoking up and I see that "bid on this item" button in my dreams, it's certainly an addiction, and I seen the JoeCigar thing the other day... looks like another wallet deflator.

It just depends on what they're offering....most of the time it's crap that's priced so low, you can't help but to feel like you're getting a deal

holy hell did anyone see the deal for today?

two bundles of 10 Bolivars for ~$50
That's exactly what I'm talking about. They may fit some guys taste profile in a cigar, but to me a NC Boli is crap.

Oh they're not my cup o' tea either.....even though i just got a ISOM Boli the other day i'm dying to murder :p

Regardless that's one helluva deal

That's where they suck you in.They offer up "2 bundles of 10" for $39.99 and show the MSRP of $129 (which of course is marked through) so you think your getting one helluva deal. Like I said, everyones tastes are different and I'm not knocking that, it's just usually the crappy cigars you see on there. I admit I've ordered twice, but that was for some Pepins and Padillas.....decent stuff you might see once a month or so. The rest look like stock they can't get rid of through the mother website.

Yep, this is a cigar you can buy for $3 a stick every day of the week so getting it for $2.50 a stick isn't that great. It's the false MSRP that catches people.

ah, guess i fell trap to it as well.....only ten bucks off really & i'm sure you make up for it in shipping.

Definitely a site i'm going to want to keep my eye on though

Their Graycliff deal some time back was OK (I passed) but most of the time it's stuff I wouldn't buy, anyway.

Guys, the truth is I have a very good relationship with a couple of the dealers that post on these pages all the time. When I make a purchase, it goes to one of these two guys, with guy #1 getting the lions share of my business. Why? Well, I want to support guys that support us, and because I've bought "a couple" of boxes over time from this guy (... :whistling: ...), I get very good deals on pretty much anything I buy.

I can strongly recommend finding a "go to" guy and patronizing him as often as your purchases are something he has in stock. You and he will both make out in the long run, and everyone wins that way....

Jonesy,

I really doubt its the MSRP that sucks people in. At least its not for me. Perdomo Vintage 91 @ $3.00 a stick... Rocky Patel Fusion @ $2.50 a stick... Camacho 1962 @ $2.50 a stick. These aren't bad cigars and furthermore, I don't have the pockets to buy a whole box. These 10-20 packs at these prices offer me box prices in smaller quantities. Yes, theres a lot of crap - but thats why we check daily for the jems! :sign: :sign: (the thus the problem!!!)

Probably because they both loaded up on them from the manufacturer who had them in his back room with a sign that says "crappy cigars that wont sell."

Yep. I also find that by using CP vendors I'm saving dough in the long run, and I'm developing an inventory of smokes I truly enjoy. On top of that, there's the benefit of knowing that one day I'll have the opportunity to enjoy a cigar with these same guys.

Very well said, Tom. I agree 100%. If you want a good deal on cigars/accessories, buy from those who support CP. Most of the sites like cigarjoes, cbid, etc, are still making a ton of money, and generally the cigars they're selling are by no means premium. I always buy from retailers on this site, especially since I can't find it cheaper anywhere else! :)

Rod,

It would be my absolute pleasure to support forum sponsors and I do so with every ISOM purchase I make. But which sponsor has less then box prices on the cigars I listed, at the quantities I listed?

Look, JoeCigar.com isn't just shelling out old inventory. Thats part of it but in my opinion theres more: they've tapped a new market group. Sort of like Porsche making making the Cayman and now the Panamera to tap into a more varied group of buyers, JoeCigar taps into buyers like me. I DO NOT want to purchases boxes. I don't need 25 of the same cigar all at once. I also don't want to spend much more than $35 on any of these purchases. Thus 5ers, 10ers and 20ers at box prices (or even below) makes sense to me and my demographic.

If there so happens to be a NC vendor who can replicate this please point me that way and I will happily oblige.
