Here's a shot of what the Towers site is looking like lately. It's the first time I've been downtown since the incident, and it's still overwhelming. I wasn't allowed to view the new area that they have put up, but I did get to see it from afar. It looks a lot like the Vietnam Veterans memorial. "Heros of September 11, 2001" is on every slab with the names of the victims, and in between, there are various pictures of the Towers being built.

Here is one of the pictures I took. If anyone wants me to post the rest, let me know.

Great pic Tony. I would like to interject an oppinion....

As American Citizens, if we are not still Angry over what was done a year ago, then we should not be too surprised to see it repeated sooner rather than later. On 9/11/01 America was mad, very mad. As well we should have been. For months after those cowards did such a horrible thing to our brothers and sisters we were angry. But now it seams to me that we have done what we, as Americans, are prone to do. We have put it behind us and have gone on with our lives. We stopped shedding tears, and we stopped screaming for justice. We moved on! And it hurts me to see that we have done that as a nation. Every man and woman in this great country should still be fighting mad, and stay fighting mad until Justice is Served.

I guess it just wouldn't be considered Civilized to stay angry. But that sintiment is Hog Wash to me. I am mad, and I will stay mad, and watchfull, and ready for more. Because like it or not, there will be more. The more complacent we become, the more devistating the "More" will be.

PB there are a LOT of people that feel the same exact way we do, but it seems that if you're not with the President, you're against him now-a-days. So I think a lot of people are just plain afraid to voice their opinion, lest they be branded a terrorist. I'm gonna catch hell for posting this next comment, but in my eyes, when 9/11 happened, the US Governement used the Bill of Rights as toilet paper and wiped their collective asses on it, then washed it down by flushing the foundation of America down with it.

Where is Bin Laden? Where are his cronies? Instead of making a move to grab the oil, finish Bush the Elders work, and to take our mind away from Bin Laden, we should be concentrating on getting one thing over with instead of pushing us towards WW3. Another thing, over in Britain, where Tony Blair is Bush's friend, Britains consider Bush the third worst thing in the world after Iraq and Bin Laden. How scary is that? The country that should be using it's anger for good is looked at as 'just like the terrorists'.

Yeah I'm angry. I've posted plenty about 9/11. I lost 15 personal friends, about 40 'brothers' from the FD, 2 relatives and I feel that we've done nothing but forget. The mockery that's going to go on tomorrow shouldn't happen. We should remember, but not use it as a political statement.

My brother in the Air Force tells me that if you drop enough nuclear missles on sand, it'll turn to glass... So what are they waiting for?

I think I hear a few Amens coming from the crowd on that one Tony. Glass sounds good to me.

PB...I'm with ya brother! I still believe we have a whole lotta' a$$ whoopin' to do. I don't believe we are takin' care of business quick enough. To me, it seems simple! Bomb the SOB's. Throw out the P.C.ness. Take care of business and bring our brother's and sister's home!

Thanks for the pic Tony and yes, I would like to see more.

I do not believe "moving on" as is referenced above is correct in the context being used. NO ONE will ever forget what happen.... never!

May I suggest we reframe from posting political opinions today (too emotional) and instead pray for the many men, women, children, family and friends that were directly effected by this spineless act.

I agree with you Kenny. This a day for rememberance.

I was driving through town today going to a meeting and the number of flags flying in front of homes, offices and shops was amazing. Also this was the first time I can remember that every flag I saw was at half-mast. Usually on a day when flags are supposed to be at half-mast you will always see some people who did not get the word or didn't care. Not today.

NEVER FORGET!

I agree, guys. I saw more flags, mine included , than I've ever seen! A very sad day indeed..... :(

I would like to see a picture of the long, black "Vietnam type" memorial wall that they have erected to honor all of the victims.

I hope to visit ground zero someday, but not now, the memory is still too fresh.
