I've been trying to post a pic off of my Yahoo pictures but seem to be doing something wrong. I copy the properties of the pic and put it between
but it doesn't work. I thought it might be Yahoo so I transfered a few pics to a MSN account but the same thing..... it won't post. What am I doing wrong?

Are you using the "IMAGE" feature on the iB Code Buttons above the post box and below the Post Icons...you know the tool bar for the post page????

Yes, I used the Image button.... didn't work.

This is what I did:

I put this:http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/bfb9988a/bc/Yahoo!+Photo+Album/Sugar2.jpg?bcCSV38AcjsbdPFw in the spot for images (that is what I copied from the properties of a picture in my Yahoo picture account)

This is the error message I got back:

THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board. A valid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.gif, an invalid format is: http://www.domain.com/picture.one.gif

Please talk slow......  :D

I think I know what's going on here. The board wants a static IP addy and the Yahoo is supplying an image from a script(dynamic IP) Try uploading it to your Yahoo briefcase, as I think that is a static IP. Or try a different provider for clubs. Or get a free website from Geocities.

Main problem is you're using Yahoo. They won't allow you to link to the picture. try www.Fotki.com or just post a link to it.

This is a test.... for the last 6 hours this has been a *&$#(*&^@(*#&$(#)_!@(#() TEST!

Alright.... time to celebrate! I had forgotton the wife had an Ofoto account. Seems to work just fine.......

BTW - Sunrise on a beach in Destin, FL.

I have been to Destin and it is a beautiful piece of FL...I have seen many, many, many sunsets on the gulf, but I don't know about sunrises there...lol...Come down to Key West, see a sunrise over the ocean, then see the sunset 4 miles from the sunrise! One of the best things about Key West!

Emo, you're preaching to the choir here about Key West. I was raised down there... left in the middle of 11th grade. I was a fighting Conch...haha! (that was our high school mascot) I lived on the north end of Flagler Street.

I sure have a lot of fine memories of that town. It sure has changed since I lived there but as you said...you can't beat the sunrise/sunsets there.

Matt is correct. Many free web host's do not allow outside linking.

Try another host and it'll work...

Hmmmm, where did my first picture go? I don't get it.... it was there when I posted it this afternoon and now its gone?

Lets try it again.....

Having the same problem, Kenny! Keep getting error messages no matter where I pull the pics from.

Darnit!!!!!

Me too..... I havn't found a host site yet that will allow me to link my pics.

I already have one pay site (ofoto) that doesn't work. Sure don't want to pay for another one just to link photo's.........

Come on guys...... deal us in on any free hosting site that we can link to.

Just created a page on Webspawner, don't see how I can link pics from it though!

Bummer :(

Lee, when you ftp the pictures out to your website, you need to know the exact location. My pictures are saved on TommyRox's web site at http://www.mullenix.ws/Storage so I just type that in followed by /filename.jpg and it works. So the main issue is if the path is a normal URL without extra stuff. I cannot do it from my website because I don't know the exact path.

Hey Rod or any computer lierate poster,
Everyone is trying to post images but when they do I just get a box with a red "x" in it. Do you know why? ???

If you post an image and it works, and then later it turns to a red box, then that means it's not a static link (it changes). So... You'll need to find a free picture hosting site that allows outside links to images.

I will do a search and see what I can come up with.

Stay tuned...
