Looking through the CI catalog, saw the add and thought, If Roly's are not so bad, what about these?

Anybody else try them?

Started off worse than the Egg, which was my worst cigar experience ever before trying a Pirates Gold. After that, got tolerable. I smoked mine pretty fresh though. I won't be able to try one with some age, because I gave the rest of mine away after the first one.

Got one in my nOob sampler almost two years ago. It was clearly the "old" stock. It smoked good as I recall, but that was two years ago...and, my tastest have changed a bunch.

The new ones are probably as good as most "bundle" smokes, but no better....that's a guess.

My $00.02 - B.B.S.

You can get 5 packs on Cbid for a few bucks.

Good way to try them out and see if they are good or not.

Think I may get one and see. If they are good, it will be a cheap smoke to have around.

The Pirate Gold and the Morro Castles seem to be pretty inexpensive on there. Just don't get tunnel vision and bid too high. There will always be more coming up for bid. :)

I picked up a bundle of these on CBid, and would have to agree with BBS. There a pretty decent $1.00 cigar, great for handing out to my non-cigar smoking friends, who wouldn't or don't appreciate a higher quality smoke.

PM me if you would like to try a couple. According to CI, these things have been hanging around for a few years, so I don't know if they'll "improve" much with time.

Another inexpensive one from there is Cibao. I got a 5 pack of Rubustos for 5 bucks. Just got them on Friday and have not tried one yet.

Will let you know how they are when I do. I am expecting a mild smoke by the looks of it. Just hope they are not garbage.

I cut one open and it had green leafs in it!!!!!!!!!!! still wet!!!!

ACK
These were supposed to be in a warehouse for several years. How could they be green?

They start out bland but develop a good nutty flavor. Decent bundle cigar and worth the cbid price of $23 to $29 a bundle. IMO

Thanks for the replies. I have a few on the way so I'll just try em out.

Don't believe Cigar Ad copy. The stuff is written for the gullible. It's soley for entertainment value. I guess the truth in advertising laws don't appy to cigar discounters.

Doc.

I have read that over the course of this brand, it has been made in Honduras, then the Dominican, then Nicaragua, then back to Honduras.

From what I have learned, the Hondurans are the nice ones. The Dominican's are terrible, and the Nic's are almost as good as the Hondurans.

I tried one of these (Honduran) last night and was impressed for a dollar smoke. This is the first budget cigar I have tired that had any real flavor to it. The others have been real mellow or mild. This one had some spice and a flavor that lasted.

Not a high quality smoke, but pretty darn good for the money.

I just had one. For a dollar smoke or not - it's not good.
I can get better cigars for a dollar or 50 cents for that matter = Rosa Cuba. It does have flavor but it's just not something I want to taste. I put it out about half way through.

Just my 2 cents on a cigar.
