O.K.-got home from the legion after smoking a darn good cigar and washing it down with a Michelob Amber Bock. I did the dishes and the wife was on the computer posting like mad at her own forum about motherhood and I was bored. Well, picked up junior to rock him to sleep and popped in Planet of the Apes....the new one with Mark Wahlberg and a bunch of lesser known actors. I'm not a big science-fiction fan, I'm Mr. Non-fiction when it comes to reading and movies(I favor documentaries) but this one really held my attention for some reason. Some good action scenes and a decent plot. It's one that I won't watch again unless I'm truly bored again. What did you guys think of it?

I liked it a lot, but was mildly disturbed by the likeness that female monkey character bore to Michael Jackson...it kinda ruined some of the parts for me :D

Plantet of the Apes is a brilliant film from Rod Serling's masterful thought provoking screenplay to the wonderful performances of Maurice Evans as Dr. Zaius and Roddy MacDowall and Kim Hunter as Cornelius and Zira.

one of my favorite films..and lets not forget that final image at the end of the film!

oops nevermind..i re read yourp ost the new film sucked ..you get helena Bonham carter and tim roth in the film and do nothing with these great actors?? the plot was dull..marky mark cant act and it surprised me that it was a Tim Burton film...drivel.

Dude, don't disrespect the King of Pop :sign:

Never saw it Scott, have memories of my parents watching the show on TV when I was a kid. Wasn't interested then or now. Even if I was bored :p

Hey since we are on the topic of the King of Pop, how is he similar to Nancy Kerrigan?

They both came in a little behind.

OMG!!!. :0 :0 :0 :0 :0 You're something else Kento.

The movie had too much of a buildup when it was released. I was hoping for a good movie and that is not what I received.

The ending was incredibly lacking.

It blew.

O.K., so it isn't academy award winning material. No one else out there liked it?? I'm just a freak?? :0 :0 ;) :p

Hey SFG, I will admit thatI liked it. I also like all of Adam Sandler's movies too, so I guess that's not much of a surprise. I guess I just look at movies for entertainment, and don't expect much from them.

1. tim roth is not a great actor, not even a great character actor. hell not even a great pseudo character actor.

2+3. how to screw up classics? adam sandler in the longest yard. a movie so poorly conceived they put ja rule in it. JA RULE???
