Officer Accidentally Fires Gun While Going to the Bathroom

SAN ANTONIO, TX (AHN) – An off-duty police officer goes to the bathroom and accidentally fires two rounds from his gun.

The officer was spending his time off at a San Antonio auto auction house Thursday when he realized he needed to use the bathroom.

Officer Craig Clancy, whose been going to the bathroom for many years now, took the appropriate steps to relieve himself. Unfortunately, as he began to pull down his pants his gun fell off his waistband and fired off two rounds as it hit the tile floor.

One of the bullets nicked a bit of floor tile into the leg of a man who was washing his hands nearby. That man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

San Antonio Police internal affairs is investigating.

Yeah Austin PD is pretty bad too. Everyday you see something stupid that they have done. What sucks is there are some really good officers in Austin. The actions of a few make the others look dumb.

I can see the gun firing once if dropped, but twice. Seems unlikely. This cowboy is dangerous.

I'm thinking it must have been a pretty cheap gun (or dangerously modified...) if it wasn't built well enough to withstand a drop from waist-height without going off...let alone going off TWICE.

cigardawg, Police Chief here now is Ortiz, don't know if he was in 1999 or not. As far as where I smoke, usually just at home or wherever we might go for dinner. I've only been here about 6 months. Been meaning to swing by Club Humidor though.
