Possible Altadis Takeover?

It looks like Imperial Tobacco if England has put in a takeover bid to acquire Altadis. It seems the cigarette company is interested in Cigars. The article seems to imply that all this consolidation is being driven by the smoking bans being passed around the world. Altadis, Spain Takeover by the Brits??

I was talking to an Altadis rep last Saturday. He told me their company owned cigarette companies in Europe.
