PP alternative kind of..

So I was looking at some of the new money transfer services and stumbled accross textpayme.com, looks promising as a way to send cash around faster then checks. However the drawbacks is you need to preload the account with cash or provide a backup credit card. The only thing that is required by a person is a cell phone that can handle SMS (which is almost all now), does anyone else have any experience with other PP alternatives?

Thanks,

K

I have elected to go out of my way to use PP for all my tobacco and porn purchases. Anyone know of anything else they've banned that I can buy?

What's "SMS"?

It stands for "Short Message Service." It is now available on just about every digitally enabled (just about all) cell phone. I think. But what the hell do I know?

I signed up, seems to work as advertised so far. :)

I took at the limits and there is a 500 dollar a month limit so it is not good for all but seems like it could be a useful alternative for some. I was kind of bummed that it cannot take cash out of your account as needed, but i guess you need to load the account first as that is the only way to verify the funds are there. I have been trying to find something that is not PP just because I have become tired of the monopoly they have of sorts. And the whole westernunion/moneygram thing is outrageously expensive compared to pp. If anyone finds anything please do let me know.

Kro77, Did you sign up? If you did, you send me the freebie $5, and I'll send you the freebie $5, and we can see how it works?? If you'd like??? :)

So brew and I did a couple transfers back and forth today and it seems to work pretty well, i think i might use this as a viable alternative.
