Yes, I was a fan back in the days of Ricky Steamboat, Jake the Snake, Hogan (in his prime), Macho Man, Roddy Piper, etc.

I remember watching Bulldog Bob Brown, The Interns, Rufus (something), Dusty Rhodes (I doubt it is the same guy, maybe...) These may be regional acts though, I remember them coming to Hutchinson and being broadcast from here.
Wow, that was 30+ years ago!

I also remember getting into serious trouble trying some of those moves on my sister

I grew up watching a lot of different wreslters and programs. When I was young I went to several Mid-South events and continue to go to the WWE events when they are in Oklahoma City. Great entertainment, even if some of the story lines are stupid.

...that's about my "vintage" as well. While I was in engineering school, a buddy would always get the pay per views, we'd stuff the house with pizzas and beers and laugh our asses off.

Anyone remember Stan "The Lariat" Hansen...?? Got an old video tape of him beating Lex Luger for the belt. Oh man, he is one hilarious dude..... :laugh:

Brings back alot of fun memories as a kid, watching the old NWA. Those were the days. I was looking up the manager who hit people with the old-school cordless phone (not sure if it was a cell phone or not, because it was in the 80's). It was Paul E. Dangerously. I have been wondering that for a long time.

Again, a good part of my night was wasted because of this thread...

just to name a few of the old-timers I remember watching as a kid.

WWF in the 80s and early 90s was great. Nowdays its not even worth watching the matches you get on free TV. Since all the real action only happens on PFV.

And the Machoman Randy Savage vs. Jake the Snake Roberts grudge match (after Jake body slammed Miss Elizabeth and "put her in the hospital") was one of the best and brutal battles I have ever seen.

I used to be a huge fan. Stopped watching a couple years ago. Same story different wrestlers and got old. My wife could never understand a grown man watching it. The only thing I could say is that it was like a mans soap opera.
