Provincial Factories...

I know some provincial factories are worse than others, but I was wondering if anyone has any particular factories they have had bad boxes from. I recently purchased some '98s from MAM (Las Mambisas); any experiences good or bad? I also have some '98 Lusis from the Holguin factory which have smoked fantastic.

Also, how many of these factories are still operating today?

I heard the QC has gotten so much better the past couple of years that it doesn't really matter which factory the box came from.

YMMV of course.

The eradication of factory telling box codes is purported to be a direct countermeasure of these types of discussions, lest less desired cigars be left to languish in warehouses and forced by market pressures to be sold at significant discounts.
