This is the 2nd cigar from the gift box. While my tour group didn't have a tour of the Plasencia facility, Plasencia did host a lunch one of the days- which was awesome! Good food and plenty of cigars, though I guess that could be said about every event at Puro Sabor.
1/3: The cigar opens with a similar fresh hay note that I get from the Davidoff core line products. This fades after a few minutes, and some hearty Nicaraguan tobacco goodness comes through. It is kind of like the aroma you get when you burn oak or some other hardwood. Maybe even a bit of charred steak aroma too.
2/3: The oaky notes are joined by a sweetness that reminds me of clover honey. There is a very subtle floral note that lingers in the background as we exit the middle third.
3/3: The cherry that has grown on flavor reminds me of Buc-ee's cherry wood jerky. There is a sweetness to it as well.

Final thoughts: The Alma Fuerte is well-made and full-bodied with occasional forays into a medium plus. I don't have a lot of experience with Plasencia, but I'd be interested in trying more. I would pick this over my own blend due to the flavors and the balanced transitions.
