I owe both of these brothers an apology. I hope the PM below will explain why.

Gentlemen, I've cc'd each of [you] because I owe you both a sincere apology. When BigFatDog was absent from the board for a short time and OldSkool signed up, I thought it might have been BFD signing on with a new name which is considered to be bad form on CP. Because of my misplaced concern, I asked Rod to do an IP check to verify if that was the case. Rod has informed me that I was mistaken. My mistake could have become a flame war that might have turned OldSkool off to CP and likely would have been the straw that broke the camels back for BigFatDog. Neither of which is acceptable.

BFD, after what you’ve done with the sandbox pass, you deserve much more credit than that. I, of all people should know that. I deeply regret that I questioned your character.

OldSkool, Your posts, though few, have been intelligent and appear to demonstrate your love for the leaf. I expect that you will become a well respected member and contributor.

I hope you both will accept my apology which I will post publicly as well. It’s fortunate that my original post went virtually unnoticed. Especially by you, OldSkool. You certainly must have wondered about it yet you exercised class and dignity in letting it go. Thank you.

Again you both have my sincerest apologies.

Nice Mike!

Remember this post of yours and BTW, who is this quote from?

Mankind is flawed. No matter how impeccable the reputation, no matter how rock solid the character, the nature of man is such that everyone will eventually stumble and let someone else down. The person of character is not one who never fails but one who makes it right when they do. The person of highest character allows the one who has fallen a degree of grace as the fallen makes sincere amends.

Way to recover your own fumble Mike.

It happens. I hope that BFD and OldSkool agree with the rest of us in that peeps make mistakes, but a person who chooses the hard right (admitting it) over the easy wrong (ignoring it) is a person that can be trusted when bullets start to fly.

Well done

Mike, your a great man to come public....which makes you stand out above the rest of the world.

We have now witnessed a perfect example of how to handle similar situations....which I'm sure occur more often than not in the "Internet Forum" world. It's easy to be misunderstood or jump to conclusions when we read a post or reply to one......

I'm proud to know you personally and look forward to many more of those occassions where we can sit back and enjoy "herfin'" it up a bit.

:)
