Growing too fast.
This particular smoke is from a SLB coded CVP NOV00. I actually got a two for one deal, both with the same codes, however one has cigars with a much lighter wrapper than the other, night and day. This is one with the dark colored wrapper, and it smells heavenly. I need to move the cab to a lower RH as this smoke feels a bit damp and is a little more spongy than it probably should be. The wrapper, as mentioned, is a dark chocolate color and very smooth with good construction throughout. I punched the cap and found the draw a little tight, however once lit and warmed up, I am hoping it will open up more.
Fire to the foot and a couple good puffs, the cigar is burning magnificently. A long, slow draw and the smoke fills my palate with delicious dark earth and cocoa. The draw opens quite well and good spice hits the back of the throat. There’s a hint of dark roasted nuts coming through as well.
The burn is good the entire smoke even though it is definitely a bit on the damp side. A solid, light gray ash is produced and only lets go when tapped on the ashtray. The flavors remained consistent throughout with dark earth, cocoa, and roasted nuts. This is probably the third out of the cab, and so far I’ve nubbed every one. Matter of fact, I think I’ll go nub another right now.
