No kidding? I had an Opus X a couple weeks ago with a tar problem. Nastiest thing I ever smoked.

Happened to me with a RdC once. I was not pleased. Literally the worst-tasting cigar I've ever smoked was that Opus.

Not that cigars that cost that much should need any fixing, but I've since learned that reclipping the head a little farther down often takes care of the problem...

One second guys. Give me a minute to find the picture. Believe me, it is scary.

Here you go...

Photo is not mine, and I would give credit for it, but the site it is from is a trusted source.

WTF?!!!! I can not even begin to imagine putting that into my mouth. Nevermind paying a premium price for a tar oozing cigar. That kinda looks like the money shot in a pron movie.

I read this thread earlier today, and when I got home tonight, I grabbed a Padron 2000M out of the humi. It has a small patch by the cap. I had a Padron Churchill some time ago that was covered in little patches. The 2000 is smoking fine right now though.

Same thing happened to me about a month ago, for the first time... I can't figure out what causes this but the draw was slightly tight.

I saw one recently but can't remember on what cigar.

It's a good thing I'm 50 soon - I need the excuse!

I also had a tar experience sometime, but not with cigar. I dont smoke cigarettes but tabacco rolled in a smoking paper. And one time dont know why when i was in a middle I felt smth terribly bitter. I didnt care and took another poof. Then the bitternes was stronger! When I looked on my lips in the mirror they were brown, I licked them and thought I'll throw up! It was the nastiest thing I've ever tasted!

I have never noticed a patch on any cigar I have had, not even a bundle cigar. I wear reading glasses and I don't scrutinize every cigar, especially if my glasses are'nt handy. I am going to pay more attention from now on. With pricing the way it is, there should'nt be any patches on a first run cigar. After all that's what I thought seconds were for.

Are these tar dribbling stick from a recent release, or scattered?

The RdC I mentioned was 7 or 8 years ago. It's happened to me a few other time sporadically since then, mostly with Fuente cigars.

I get that tar problem all the time especially with Don Carlos! #4s are the worst! If that shit hits your tongue, forget it, it's over for me. I've only really noticed it with Fuente products. Occasionally you get it with a PAM but it's rare.

A LFD DL Lancero did that to me so I cut it further down and it was fine as far as the tar was concerned. However the little bit of tar that got on the tip of my tounge made it hard for me to enjoy the rest of the cigar.
