Question for AVB

I would like to know if you know anything or have had Old Fettercairn? I read it was a decent single highland malt but then have also been told that it is only used for blending. I'm interested because it contains my namesake. Any knowledge? Thanks... :thumbs:

Thanks...I'm surprised at the price though...due to the rareness of it, you'd think that it would be a little less pricey. I will still try to track it down one day.

The one I reviewed is a limited edition. You can buy regular Fettercairn for much less. They dropped using "Old" a few years back.

Funny thing...just looked it up in the 1997 printing of "The Complete Book of Whiskey" where Jim Murray says "This is a malt that I simply dislike". I hope it has changed since then...
