Are you familiar with the Buffalo Trace bottles that have the Buffalo 5 cent piece affixed to the front? It is my understanding that the distiller purchased all the Buffalo nickels that they could find, since no longer produced to add a little something extra to the bottles. If you have any additional information, that would be much appreciated.

My curiosity got the best of me. So I looked up the companies website and called the gift shop. The nice lady there explained that they, as I had previously heard, have done their best to buy up all of the remaining nickels that they can get their hands on. They then will be adding a nickel to each bottle sold from the gift shop. They say that they will be adding the nickels exclusively at the gift shop until they have depleted their stock. It adds a little something extra to show that the bottle was bought straight from the distillery.
