A friend of mine has decided to get rid of his cigars and below is a list that he has. He will not give me a price and wants me to decide what they are worth, so I was hoping some members here would help me out and let me know a little about the rarity, worth, ect. I have done alot of searching and have some info about the TAA sets, but some of the others have illuded me. Would anyone be willing to help me out. Please let me know if I am off base asking this here. Thanks again.

Not off base, however I can tell you that asking significantly more than the original $50 paid (donated) for the TAA sets is frowed upon. If he wants to get top dollar for his smokes (which is one way to interpret your post/question) then he ought to just put em on ebay or some other auction site.

If he wants to just get rid of them then I or others here might be more than willing to give him what he paid. Unless he got hosed when he purchased them.

Another concern of course is that we have no idea who this guy is, and how he stores his cigars. Despite the fact that he's got some real nice cigars that you mentioned, it's not safe to assume they have been cared for and stored correctly. In that case if he or you wants to sell them here then not only does the 'send your end first' rule apply, but also the 'take it back because the wrapper is cracked, it's dried out, it's got beetle holes, or whatever the reason' rule would apply.

I'll add that rarity and age might give the older TAA sets some premium, and I personally would pay up to $60 for one set. But that's just me, some folks here might abide by the "sell it for what you paid" rule and scoff at anything over the original $50 per set price.

You should be able to find the going rate for the bolded sticks right here on this forum. If you have done "alot of searching" then you should have found these.

I sure hope this isn't a "feeler" thread to see what the "best offer" for these sticks would be. That would surely be poor form.

I guess I was wrong on the Sand Shark and the VSG Round. I thought the prices used to be in the thread, but they aren't there.

No I actually am thinking of buying them myself. I have an idea of what they might or might not be worth, but I just wanted to get a trusted opinion, that's all. It seems as if I am right where I need to be price wise because the TAAs seem a bit high, but the others are significantly low, so it seems to offset. Anyway thanks to all who offered insight.
