OK, first not looking to buy, sell, or trade an ISOM...I am so green that it would be wasted on me anyway

but what has been spinning around in my little head are questions on buying, selling, owning, and trading these.
It is against the law to buy ISOM's right. Or, are there ways to get around this within the confines of the law.

Is there a thread on this, if so point me to it please

No offense but you ARE green if you asked that question, hehe.

We can't openly discuss 99% of what you asked on a BB like this. The simple answer to you is that Cuban cigars are illegal to import into the US, end of story. No, if's and's or but's about, it is against the law to do it.

That being said there always folks who will chance it from the selling and shipping side and from the buying side.

Look to the thread title'd "the letters" in the Cuban section of this forum. It discusses the possible consequences for ignoring the simple message delivered in my second paragraph.

Cheers, and enjoy smoking those Dominicans, Hondurans, nicaraguans, Equadorans, etc etc etc

I'm pretty sure, violating the trading with the enemy act, is frowned upon by the UCMJ. You can check with your JAG if you're unsure. :whistling:

As a former JAG in the USMC, I'll tell you that Doc is dead on right. You don't want to risk this. Besides, to be technical, if you are a US Citizen, it's "illegal" to buy Cuban cigars or Cuban products anywhere in the world (even when you are on foreign soil), not just "importing" them into the US.
 
Don't forget, even if it's not specifically covered by by the UCMJ, there's always that nasty Article 134 to bite you in the arse. ;)
