With a little cleaning once in a while, it served me well the last 3 years.
Yesterday I was at one of the biggest German Volksfests in Erlangen Germany. My friend and I decided it was time to go get something to eat and then take the train home. As we were walking down the path an older Gentlemen, who was a bit into his cups, slipped, tried to keep from falling by grabbing onto the railing which spun him around and then fell backwards landing on the back of his head with a CRACK.
I tossed all my stuff down and ran to him and stabilized his neck and then used direct pressure on the flap of scalp he had torn on the asphalt. Covering myself in blood while waiting on the EMTs and Police to arrive. (Yeah I guess its time for a AIDs test :-/ ) Well we got him to the first aid station and I filled out all the witness paperwork. And then 2 hours later when we were done and I had washed as much blood out of my shirt and pants as possible my friend handed me my cigar case and cutter, and my camera. When I asked him if he had my lighter he said, "I didn't see a lighter, lets go home."
Oh well, lots of excitement that I'll never forget. Guess its time to move up to a better brand
since Colibri doesn't make that model anymore.
I called the hospital this morning as soon as I woke up. The old gent is doing fine (other than a huge headache), and they told me that he had told them to thank me.
So how was your guys weekend?
I'm just glad I have today off
