With a little cleaning once in a while, it served me well the last 3 years.

Yesterday I was at one of the biggest German Volksfests in Erlangen Germany. My friend and I decided it was time to go get something to eat and then take the train home. As we were walking down the path an older Gentlemen, who was a bit into his cups, slipped, tried to keep from falling by grabbing onto the railing which spun him around and then fell backwards landing on the back of his head with a CRACK.

I tossed all my stuff down and ran to him and stabilized his neck and then used direct pressure on the flap of scalp he had torn on the asphalt. Covering myself in blood while waiting on the EMTs and Police to arrive. (Yeah I guess its time for a AIDs test :-/ ) Well we got him to the first aid station and I filled out all the witness paperwork. And then 2 hours later when we were done and I had washed as much blood out of my shirt and pants as possible my friend handed me my cigar case and cutter, and my camera. When I asked him if he had my lighter he said, "I didn't see a lighter, lets go home."

Oh well, lots of excitement that I'll never forget. Guess its time to move up to a better brand :-P since Colibri doesn't make that model anymore.

I called the hospital this morning as soon as I woke up. The old gent is doing fine (other than a huge headache), and they told me that he had told them to thank me.

So how was your guys weekend?

I'm just glad I have today off :)

GOLF!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Followed by spending Mother's Day with my mother and her grandson.

And nicely done going to that man's assistance. You definitely went above and beyond.

Great job on the helping the gent and sorry that you lost an old friend!

Took a drive to the Oregon coast (about two hours from here) and smoked a Tat "Noella" on the boardwalk, taking in the beautiful day, the ocean view, and watching the seagulls terrorize the folks trying to eat lunch.....

Cheers - B.B.S.

Damn Shawn, I guess my weekend didn't suck that bad. I played the AVB lawn game twice today(long story, don't want to get into it). We tried to get passports for the rest of my family this morning. My wife couldn't figure out the Governments website to pull up the right form so she called the Post office. They told her that they had forms and just come on in. Well to get passports for kids under 16 they have to be present along with there parents or the appropriate paper work. So we had all three kids with us. We get to the Post office in Liberty(the only one in 40 miles of us that does passports). My wife, thinking that it would be smarter to go in and get the forms and fill them out in the car before we bring the whole crew into the building. She goes in and comes right back out, the lady at the counter(main counter not Passport counter) tells her that they haven't had any forms for weeks and there must be something wrong with our computer if we can't print off the forms. My parents live two blocks away but my dad told me the day before his monitor was going out. There is a public library a block away but my wife doesn't have her card with her so we can't access the computers there. We go back home and take the two older kids on to school. I get on the computer and find the forms right away(two min). My wife calls the post office and talks to the guy who runs the passport office in the post office. He says that they have the forms and that they don't put them out because they want to encourage people to use the online forms. So now I have to go back to the post office Thursday and do the whole thing again! That was just today. At least I didn't have to deal with some poor guy bleeding out.

Good job on helping that guy. It was a really selfless act and I'm sure it outweighs the material object. I wouldn't worry about the AIDS. Never hurts to get tested but quite a bit of his blood would have had to mix with quite a bit of your blood. If you yourself didn't have a major wound I wouldn't sweat it.

With that said, I also once had a single torch Colibri. Then I discovered the dual torch Xikar ;) I'll give you my single torch Colibri for free if you want it, but I doubt it was as good as the one you had. I forget the model, but I feel like it didn't burn at a hot enough temp to get things going quick enough.

Good luck on finding the replacement.

I would have just put him down bro but your a better man than me good job. If i can find some time we will get together this week. i may have a torch you can use until we find you a new one.
