I just converted the entire forum from flat file database to a mysql database. Do you notice a difference? Is it faster? Any problems? Let me know!

It appears to be loading a bit quicker - but that could just be my ISP. Let's hope it stays this fast.

mySQL is always gonna bring you a marked improvement over a flat file. It holds the db a LOT better.

BTW Rod, it runs a lot quicker for me on my dumpy Mac. On my good mac it runs hella quick. On my PC, diggity damn, much faster

Ok sounds good. I just wanted to make sure it converted properly. Go ahead and give it a good work out.

The reason for the upgrade to mysql is to provide yet another upgrade. If you think this is fast, just wait........ You're gonna need a seat belt on your computer chair after the next upgrade (soon...)... :lookup:

WHOOOT! Little butt kissing here, but your site is the only one that I come to on a constant basis, and you actually do some major upgrading on a continual basis to keep everyone happy. No wonder this is the best damn cigar site out there.
