Rear wheel well liners - or fixes?

Ok - the rear wheel well at the factory weld is beat - about a 1-2in gap down the length.

Any, useful, suggestions for a patch/cover/replacement?

This is what I have so far:

1) Expanding foam - trim and underseal.
2) Patch with metal or thick plastic and rivet up - underseal.
3) Look at rear wheel well liners and just put them up.

I'm not worried right now about cutting and cleaning and re-welding something....I just don't want 'stuff' flying up there!!

(yes, I've posted this on some 4x4 forums and googled...but I know a few here deal with cars/trucks as a hobby or work!)

I would just go to lowes, buy some sheet aluminium, a pair of shears, and a rivet gun and go to town. Check JC Whitney's, they might have some pre-fab stuff you could buy also.

I had some on my 77 van, then spray painted over it.
