Congratulations!

Not that I'd recommend this, but my buddy had a very unique proposal method. He put a ribbon through the ring and tied it around the ol' meat and two veg. When the action began, he had her press the down button and when she got down there she was greeted with the ring. He figured since it was likely the last time she'd be down there, he might as well get the most mileage out of the trip.

Worked for him, but I'm not sure that's the best way to go about it.

Congrats - wish you the best. 10 years here next month.

Marriage is just like cigars, gets better with age up to a certain point :p

Thanks guys, most of you, for the kind words of encouragement. I can't decide what I want to do, and I don't think Alan's idea will fly too well. ;) Surely I can come up with something pretty quick. I almost just gave it to her last night because she has no idea I bought it. It was hilarious. I had the ring in my car and she got upset because she didn't think it was a priority and I would never save up the money. I almost busted it out on her, but I thought the parking lot of Sonic wasn't the best choice. :D

Parking lot of Sonic's not that bad...as long as it has a meaning to you guys. I proposed the day I found out that I passed th bar exam, right before we got on a plane to go to New Orleans Jazz Fest, while walking to dogs in the park at the end of our street. I have been reminded at least 1000 times that I proposed to her while she was holding a bag of dog poop.

I had a glass of bourbon in one hand and a cigar in the other, had to put down the bourbon to pull the ring out. Choices, choices. But a man's got to do what a man's got to do.. Cheers and congrats.

Brandon - I missed this thread before, so I just wanted to say congrats.

This pressure must be why you didnt my smokes out this week....j/k...

Recently celebrated 10 years and I can remember the day I gave the ring. I kept touching my pocket to makes the ring was still there.

Dont get to worked up on "how" to do it. Just think of something that means something to the both of you. I think the best part is when the fiancee to be has no idea its coming......

And while she may not think it is a priority, I am pretty sure she wont ask you to send it back...unlike, say the 42" plasma you buy....

Good Luck and keep us posted....

Congratulations. Big step.

When I proposed we were canoeing on Moosehead Lake in Meine. She got so excited we dumped! Luckily I did not buy the ring yet. I bought it after she accepted. 38 years later, she's still my bride.
