I am sure many of you read what happened to my cigar collection. I want to get a few sticks back in the house but am extremely short on money. I have been watching the "Hot Cigar Deals" forum for a while but nothing has caught my eye. Another problem is that I am still new to cigars so even though my collection was getting sizeable durring this winter in MN, I did not have a chance to try many before I was forced to sell. Therefore, I still don't know what I like. Any recommendations? Thanks

The least expensive cigar that I would recomend are RP sungrown selects. Padron 2000 and Tatuate P series cigars are also not terribly expensive and can hold their own with just about anything within reason.

Doc.

The Fumas or Don KiKi's are intruguing. I thought about the 2000s (I have wanted to try one for a while and still have yet to) but at 5 for $13 + shipping at TNT it is still a little higher than I want to spend on a per stick basis.

Perhaps you should consider smoking a pipe. It's a lot cheaper hobby than cigar smoking and the boys that frequent the pipe threads would be more than happy to get you on your way.

I've had the Brown Label figurados, IMO, pretty good for a budget!

You can try the Padron Londres. It's about ~$2 a cigar. I think it's more harsh than the 2000 though. Personally, I think the extra $1 is worth it for the 2000.

I've tried a couple different cigars from Don Kiki, didn't really care for any but the brown label. They weren't horrible, I just didn't care for them.

The Brown label figurados on the other hand turned out to be a good smoke (or at least I remember it to be a good smoke, it was over a year ago when I last had one)

At $1.50 each I may have to pick up a box sometime.

Doc and I must have the same taste in cigars!! I just don't understand it but the RP Sungrown hit a spot in me. One good thing about them is that RP have seconds and selects of these cigars. Not exactly the same cigar but they are cheaper bundles. The Padrons are also a great cigar but with a distinctive taste profile. I find that some don't like them. I enjoy the hell of out them. If you like the sungrown consider the bundles of the seconds as a money saver. Good luck with your new purchases!!

Well the cheapest cigars I smoke are Consuegras... $1 per stick and the Sancho Panza Double maduro La Mancha- $35 per box. Give those a shot. If you like maduro cigars then you should be happy with the SP's. If that is still too expensive, then I would smoke a pipe until your financial situation improves. Hope that helps a bit.

Anybody have a couple sticks of the DK Brown Figurado and Pardon Fuma that they would be willing to sell so I could try them out? Thanks

I believe that the Padron Fumas are discontinued and are pretty HTF at the moment. Why don't you try the newbie sampler. They can hook you up with a wide varitey of cigars. If not, shoot me a pm, I've got alot of bargin brands.

I'll second the Sancho Panza maduros, and the Sancho Panza Extra Fuertes if you like a stronger smoke. JR has good prices on them. I also like the Nicaraguan 3000's from Famous.

I like the RP Sungrowns too.

I also like Cuba Aliados blends from Rolando Reyes if you can find them cheap on Devilbid.

And Rolys are still better than anything at Smokeworld or the Quicktrip.

I'm getting seriously addicted to the Famous Nic 3000's, at slightly more than $2 a stick. I keep reaching into my humi for different sticks, a nice Soprano, Cohiba, Fuente, and my hand unconsciously heads for the 3000 torp or dubble maddie instead.

Others are CAO Brazillias, Perdomo millenario mistakes, RP Sungrown Selects, Tampa Sweethearts, and tons of others in the $2-$3 range. Plenty of great, cheap sticks to keep me happy while the 'special occasion' sticks age.

Consuegra #9
Indian Tabac Super Fuerte

I agree but would emend the IT SF with Toro Maduro. All the Connies are good. JR sells a Dominican Connie, too! JR also sells the Plascencia line of TKO fame. The only problem with JR is they tag you for $2.56 per item shipping AND if you live in certain states(I do - Delaware), they add USPS charge ON TOP. My last shipping charge on two boxes was $11 :(

Over at cigar bid, the IT SF Toro Mad can be had for $28 a bundle, the Trilogy Tri-press for less the $40, the Oliveros Grand Torpedo for $16 for 25, and the IT Corojos for $25. All decent smokes, too!

Tampa Sweethearts has a mild but tasty robusto maduro for $26 - #50.
