This Saturday. Support your local participating record store. Hundreds of new releases on vinyl. Last year I got a boxed set of 5 Dylan 45's which has increased in value considerably. I can't wait to see what's in store. ;)

I don't think that Heilman's Old Style got to his part of the country. I liked Special Ex myself.

I'll have you guys know I drank Old Style while stationed at Great Lakes, but I prefered Leinenkugle.

Geez. And you gave me grief about liking Schlitz? By the way, have you found any of the old recipe stuff yet?

No, It's not distributed in New England and try to remember that was a long, long time ago, before the craft beer era.

To get back on track.

at least 350 bands are putting out special releases. Iggy Pop, Katy Perry, Garbage, Bombay Bicycle Club and The White Stripes are just a few more of the staggering number of artists participating in Record Store Day 2012.

Still own a "record player" or stylus as we called them in the day. Have several stacks of vinyl so I can enjoy "High Fidelity"

Thanks for the heads up.

Need to really get some new vinyl. That would force me to change my Grado cartridge, Probably deteriorating as I Haven't spun Vinyl on the turntable in a long while. I wonder if new vinyl would push me over the edge on that Conrad Johnson rig I've been eyeing!!!

Well, I just finished looking through the list of releases and have picked three must haves. LPs by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Mississippi John Hurt and Ricky Scaggs and Tony Rice. I can't wait for Saturday, O900, and if I see you there, don't get in my way. ;)

And Monk. Before you spring for C-J and their audiophool caps, wire and inverted polarity, look into Audio by Van Alstline. I recently had an ET3-SE pre-amp in my system and compared it with AVA's T-8+. I went with AVA at around half the price. You eliminate the middleman and get only what you need being they're a built to order product.

Record Store is a great thing. Cincinnati has a damn fine record store, Shake It Records. That's the place to be tomorrow...

Dang, Doc, I forgot all about AVA. That T8 looks like the ticket, and a good replacement for my tired Counterpoint. Stepped volume is a pain in the ass to get the volume just right. The Amps look nice too. I sold my Cary due to the Biasing being a pain in the butt. Not to mention a bit dangerous. Thanks a lot.

The volume pot isn't the issue you might think it is. You can set it between indents for a more precise setting. 25hrs to go.

Doc.

Disclaimer: No big bottomed hippie women were injured In acquiring this music.

Success. I got everything I wanted and then some. Added Janis Joplin's Pearl on 180gm vinyl and took advantage of the store's buy 3 get 1 free CD deal and got "Electric dirt" and "Ramble at the Ryman" by Levon Helm; Rory Block's "Gone woman blues" and Buddy Guy's "Living Proof". Now for a cigar and a cup of coffee. Then I'll break out the record cleaning machine (you do clean your new vinyl?) and spend the rest of the day listening to my scores (good pun, huh?) and wait for the badly needed rain. Have a nice day fellas.
