I just saw these in the new CI catalog. they look good has anyone smoked one? Input please....

Saw these in CI as well, haven't had any, I'm also curious.

Most RP's I've ever had a consistant and good, so I would expect nothing less.

Whether or not it would meet my expectations is another story.

I ordered a box, almost a month ago from CI, it said at the checkout, that they're were going to be backordered. Then I got an e-mail saying:

"Due to unexpected delays in production, the Rocky
Patel Vintage 'Fusion' is not expected to arrive until at least 11/1."

So maybe next week. I'll do a review when I get 'em!

I can review my homemade Fusion. I duck-taped a Vintage '90 to a '92 but it tasted like Homeland Security. :p

I wish to know what this Fusion cigar is all about, Dan. Please let us know when you know and then we'll know. :D

So, how do you do a 'fusion' of cigars with identical blends but different wrappers? Put TWO wrappers on it, a '90 and a '92 wrapper? Or d'ya think they just have some '91 wrappers, and are calling that a 'fusion' of the '90 and '92?

My only guess on how to "fuse" the two is take the wrapper off of one and make it the binder, while keeping the wrapper different?????

Completely different blend then.

Well I got the answer today, from Rocky himself. He came to my local shop for their grand opening, and I asked him about the Fusion. He said that they are a special CI only blend, and should be released in 2-3 weeks. The cigar does indeed have two wrappers, a sumatra and I can't remember the other, but I assume honduras like the '90. Apparently the blend is actually slightly different, for a more 'full' flavor.

I also found out that they test the draw on each cigar by using a machine before the final cap is put on.

There is also another 'gar that is new and exclusive to CI from RP, it's called the OSG (Original Sun Grown).

You mean the red label Sun Growns? I'm sure that those aren't a CI exclusive; my local shop stocks them. Can you link me to the "Original Sun Grown" that you're referring to?

I have no idea how I've missed these up till now!

It's interesting that the write-up says no more will ever be made and CI has all of them; yet every size they sell is on backorder. Backordered from where?
