I searched and found nothing on this subject. I recently bought a Ronson Jetlite Lighter from Wal-Mart because I've read that it's the best bang for the buck. But I was wondering if the Ronson butane is good to use, or should I empty the lighter of all butane and buy a butane that is distilled at least three times like I have read I should do on this forum? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I use the Ronson fuel in my JetLite and have never had any issues. I had my last JetLite for about a year before the spring in the lid broke and the lid was just floppy. So I bought a $3 replacement lighter and have the lidless one in my back-up cabinet.

Ronson JetLite FTW!

Leave the triple filtered stuff to those finicky high dollar lighters that need it.

I love that lighter. Surfishin Dave gave me one a while back at Mike's Philly Herf. I get them on eBay by the dozen and give them away at herfs. PIF....

I do use the triple filtered stuff because after I started using it years ago, I've been problem free with every lighter I've owned. Why take a chance for a few bucks more...it's not like we go through 20 cans a year!

Yes, spending 200 or 300 on a box of smokes, and then skimping a couple of dollars on good accessories seems counterproductive. I have a friend who has a walk-in with many thousands worth of cigars, and he won't break down and get a decent Digital Hygrometer to help protect his investment.

I decided to grab a few of these today after my backup lighters decided to hang it up over the weekend. They have been spotty for the past few months, so I knew they were gona kick it soon. These look to fit the bill nicely for spares and as backups to my Blazer that is going strong.
