Who watches the Rose Parade? I live right near Pasadena, so all the floats will be going down all the streets around my house tonight. Nothing but traffic jams everywhere. There are also a ton of DUI checkpoints all around my house today/tonight. It's pouring rain right now. If it rains tomorrow, it will be the first time it rained on the parade in 50 years.
I went down to the parade route last year on New Years Eve night, and it looked like a third world country. As you probably know, people camp out there at night for the parade. There were bon fires everywhere, and it smelled really bad. I think people were crapping in the gutters. No joke, it's disgusting. I'm going to try and go down to Old Town Pasadena tonight and snap some pictures. I'll post them here. Should be very interesting to see what people are doing with all this rain. Their tents must be flooded.
There are also 22,000 less parking spots this year because of the rain. They use a golf course to park many of the cars, however the golf course is now flooded and they're not allowing any cars there this year. The traffic is so bad here, you wouldn't believe it if you saw it. We have CHP, Sheriff and local PD's all in Pasadena trying to do traffic control and make sure everything remains safe. I will try and get some pictures tonight so you guys can see how bad it is down here. Have to be careful though, because the kids like to freeze marshmellow's and shoot them at you with a sling shot. They also fire them at the cars on Colorado Blvd. Not to mention spraying shaving cream and silly string everywhere.
