RP SG Factory Selects

I’ve found a new love, RP SG Factory Selects. These are tasty, medium to full-bodied smokes that have some minor structural flaws in them, (i.e. nicked or slightly damaged wrapper.)

They smoke beautifully, they taste wonderful, and what’s even better, they only cost me $35 for 20 torpedoes. :thumbs:

Anyone else try them?

The real typical flaw with these are a wrapper that has different shading in them, so it almost gives a barberpole effect. Otherwise, from the bundles I have had they have been rejected due to a big vain in the wrapper, a slightly sloppy cap, and a weird "nick" in the wrapper as aforementioned. These are covered with a patch of tobacco (1 cm at most) and smoke fine. I would say it's about 1 out of 15 that has any noticeable damage to them. Otherwise, I really can't tell what the flaw is sometimes.

Been smokeing the Factory Selects and even the seconds from Famous for quite some time now.The toro's I have grabbed at least 8 bundles already and not one was flawed,plugged or gave burn problems.The PC's I have had a few bundles and there have been some plugs and wrapper color differences.Never had a shaded cigar so bad that it looked like a barber pole though.

great smoke and after 8 months,still some stregnth with alot more sweetness.

I have not noticed any difference as I have had both in Toro, PC, and Torp.

To be honest you really don't need a wrapper at all on a cigar. It's almost for asthetics. It only imparts about 10% of the cigar's flavor and if it has any age on it at all that 10% will have married with the filler tobacco anyway! I've smoked a few nice cigars that the wrapper unfortunately met its demise. I couldn't tell a difference accept that the cigar looked like it had shrivled up due to no smooth wrapper, but no diff in taste.
