I just installed Windows Vista, and I must say I'm not impressed. While the overall layout seems nice, it looks more like a service pack for XP. I hope they improve Vista over the next 5 months when it is due for the final release. They have a lot of work to do!

Anyone else running Vista Beta?

You are a brave, brave soul. I am a total windows homer and I still get nervous when they ask me to be part of their prerelease/beta projects. If I were you I would be careful for the next couple of months. I can't wait to see the new windows though (three+ months after the release  )

Interesting to hear. As an avid mac user, I am curious to see what happens when Vista launches, as apple will also be launch their somewhat final installment of the OS.

We're running two 'test' pc at work. Once you get over the design changes to the root of what programs you need it's the same set up...so far. If anything it's more difficult to get to admin progems and setup utilities.

I'm sure it has it's place in the market...maybe for home use and a/v scenarios. As for a work pc...I'm not impressed so far...we'll see!!

I'll probably put it on my new pc, so I can keep up with what users 'will' be doing!!! It looks nice.

I run Vista and Office 2k7 on my laptop. It is visually pretty cool, I just have to figure out where they are hiding everything. I really like the tab system (like Firefox) that Explorer 7 uses. The areo mirror look is pretty hot. Try hitting your windows key and tab ;)

I decided to say no to Vista for now... but I am Beta testing Office 2007.

I like it, but it is so much different than the office packages up to and including 2003... its hard working with it at times.

I've been running Explorer 7 for a while now. I like it, except I have to get used to the new symbols on the screen, rather than the menus that were there before. It's like Firefox, but I'm still pretty attached to Firefox...

I don't plan on getting away from FF and going to IE7. After the MANY times I had to reformat my hard drive because of the lack of security in IE, I doubt I'll use IE7. Just don't trust it. FF has yet to let me down. BTW, they are releasing a new version of FF soon!

Vista runs extremely slow. I hope they make some major improvements over the next 6 months.

you are a bold man Rod, i will wait for vista after it has been to market and really tested, not thta that means anything with microshaft.
