Somewhere Smoking a Cigar
Someone asked me if I had ever tried a RyJ Reserve Real, I said no I usually dont smoke domestic Romeo's since they are pretty mild- and I personally like spicy fuller bodied smokes. So this friend of mine bought me one to try :)

I let it sit in the humi for 10 or so days, and decided to fire it up yesterday morning. I was pleasantly surprised. The construction of the cigar was near perfect. Firm and heavy feel, like a good cigar should be. The pre-light aroma was good, so I xikar'd the end. Pre-light draw was excellent though little to no flavor imho.

I roasted the tip, and puffed. Started pretty mellow and I thought, ****- another basic RyJ mild mild mild. About 1/2 inch or so in, it kicked up to medium and stayed there :) Lots of thick smoke, very even burn and slightly spice (slight). The ash was firm and white, looked like it was gonna hold on during the entire smoke :) but since I was driving at the time, the wind pretty much broke it off for me :)

I nubbed the cigar, which for a usually domestic "mild" cigar is a rare for me. I would say overall the cigar is a solid 8 out of 10, or a 87 score.

Its mild to medium bodied, with good flavor through out, and it increased in strength a little as I smoked it down- so it did get a bit stronger the further down I got.

If you havn't tried one because of the stigma of RyJ's (locally) being mild, give one a try- you might like it... I did.
