Haha yeah I’m in SD, and I actually live in La Jolla!
So the areas you’re talking about are probably Pacific Beach and that’s where all the college kids and twenty somethings go to pub crawl on Garnet Ave.
Mission Bay is just south of that and is a beach area with places to stay but not that much to do at night. There is a Mission Beach area that is between Mission Bay and Seaworld and that’s also a sort of small tourist stay location.
La Jolla is where I grew up so to me it’s boring and I feel like is a retirement community, but from a visitor’s perspective I’ve been told it’s a really quaint version of Newport Beach. The downtown area has a bunch of good eateries, the beaches are nice and pretty clean.
For the best food places, you’ll want to hit up three main areas: Little Italy, Northpark (lots of brew pubs there), and Hillcrest.
The three spots you’ve chosen are pretty close to each other and without traffic, an Uber is about 15 minutes from downtown; all three will get you to where you wanna go. There is one spot I think is kind of cool and that’s Birdrock; between LJ and PB, lot of rooms are just blocks from the ocean. Let me know if you have any other questions.
And definitely let me know if you’re free one of the nights you’re here, would be awesome to hang out!
